Jackson County SWCD partners with the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to assist Farmers and Producers applying for Federal cost-share programs in Jackson County. Local NRCS personnel work at a local level to help people conserve all natural resources on private lands. Close to three-fourths (3/4) of the technical assistance provided by NRCS goes directly to helping farmers and ranchers develop conservation systems uniquely suited to their land and individual ways of doing business. NRCS also provides assistance to rural and urban areas to reduce erosion, conserve and protect water, and solve other resource concerns. NRCS partners include conservation districts such as Jackson County SWCD, state and federal agencies, Earth Team volunteers, agricultural and environmental groups and professional societies to complete their mission.
